Grape Ape effects: what people report

People most often describe Grape Ape as sleepy and relaxing: those are Leafly’s two top reported effects, with hungry third, and Leafly rates the strain mostly calming. AllBud and Weedmaps users add euphoric and happy. Dry mouth, dry eyes and dizziness are the most-reported downsides.1,2,3

Energizing or sleepy?

Sleepy. Leafly places Grape Ape on the calming side of its scale, sleepy heads its list of effects, and Leafly’s list of the 100 best strains files it under strains for feeling relaxed.1,7 Sources differ on how heavy it is: Royal Queen Seeds calls its version "stoning", while Leafly’s 2015 highlight found the body effects "not overly-sedating".4,5

Why two batches can feel different

Potency alone varies widely: one in ten lab-tested batches came in under 13.61% THC and one in ten above 24.16%, and Nevada’s median (15.81%) sits well below Washington’s (20.65%).8 Add eight breeders’ seed versions with at least two different parent lists, and the same name can cover noticeably different flower (see genetics).5,6,9
